Night time nappies

During the daytime you should be changing your child's nappy every 2½ to 4 hours depending on the child. At night, your baby may be sleeping for longer than this so the nappy will need to be more absorbent.

There are two options available for night time nappies.

  1. You can use a different type of nappy which is recommended for night time use (your supplier will be able to recommend one).
  2. Use the nappy you normally use but add extra padding e.g.
    A special booster pad.
A folded flat nappy inside a shaped one.
Or, anything that will add extra absorbency- try folded face flannels, cut up an old towel or fold up old tea towels.

You may find you need to use a bigger wrap at night if the nappy has extra padding.

Worried about wetness?

The nappy your baby wears at night makes no difference to how often they wake but if you are worried about wetness try using a fleece liner or a nappy that has a fleece layer sewn in.

And finally, make sure everything is tucked inside the waterproof cover to avoid leaks.
